Europe 2023: Swedish Presidency, the 2023 Agenda and Elections in the New Year

The first two weeks in the new year also mark two weeks into the newly installed Swedish Presidency of the European Union which started its mandate by inviting the European Commission Delegation in Sweden’s northernmost city, Kiruna to discuss about priorities of the Presidency and current issues on the EU agenda: peace, climate action and economic stability. Besides these long ongoing challenges, 2023 will also be a time for important general elections such as in Greece, Poland and Spain and for legislative improvement of the Union, with a Work Programme comprising 43 Policy Objectives.
