2022 CEF Transport Call

On 13 September, 9 calls for proposals were launched for a total of 41 topics for projects aimed at supporting new enhanced and improved European transport infrastructure under the Connecting Europe Facility – Transport sector, which supports projects improving multimodality and infrastructure and promoting innovation and new technologies.

The projects funded under these new calls will contribute to increasing the sustainability of the transport network, and thus to achieving the objectives of the European Green Deal of reducing transport emissions by 90% by 2050.

The budget of the call amounts to 5.12 billion euros and will contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects on the Core and Comprehensive TEN-T networks in the following sectors:

– railways

– inland waterways

– seaports and inland ports

– road safety

– road-rail terminals

– multimodal logistics platforms

– multimodal hubs for passengers

– intelligent and interoperable applications for transport

– safe and secure mobility

– infrastructure resilience

Specifically, the calls are:

  • CEF-T-2022-SIMOBGEN – Projects related to smart and interoperable mobility- General envelope. It includes 13 topics and has a total budget of 400,000,000 euros
  • CEF-T-2022-COMPCOEN – Projects on the Comprehensive Network – Cohesion envelope. It includes 4 topics and has a total budget of 350,000,000 euros
  • CEF-T-2022-COMPGEN – Projects on the Comprehensive Network – General envelope. It includes 4 topics and has a total budget of 250,000,000 euros
  • CEF-T-2022-CORECOEN – Projects on the Core Network – Cohesion envelope. It includes 4 topics and has a total budget of 2,000,000,000 euros
  • CEF-T-2022-COREGEN – Projects on the Core Network – General envelope. It includes 4 topics and has a total budget of 1,620,000,000 euros
  • CEF-T-2022-SAFEMOBCOEN – Projects related to safe and secure mobility – Cohesion envelope. It includes 4 topics and has a total budget of 150,000,000 euros
  • CEF-T-2022-SAFEMOBGEN – Projects related to safe and secure mobility – General envelope.It includes 3 topics and has a total budget of 100,000,000 euros
  • CEF-T-2022-SUSTMOBGEN – Projects related to sustainable and multimodal mobility – General envelope. It includes 3 topics and has a total budget of 100,000,000 euros
  • CEF-T-2022-SIMOBCOEN – Projects related to smart and interoperable mobility – Cohesion envelope. It includes 2 topics and has a total budget of 150,000,000 euros

A project proposal must concern only one topic of the call.

Beneficiaries who can submit applications for projects are:

  • one or more Member States
  • international organisations
  • public or private bodies established in an EU Member State, with the agreement of the Member State(s) concerned.

Deadline (for all topics) is 18 January 2023 at 17.00 CET.
